Meet RealTyme at MWC26 Doha: Sovereign Communications for the Digital Economy

RealTyme at MWC26 Doha, 8–10 November 2026, Doha Exhibition and Convention Center

RealTyme will be part of MWC26 Doha, the GSMA's flagship event for the Middle East and North Africa, taking place from 8 to 10 November 2026 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).

Now in its second edition, MWC26 Doha brings together telecom operators, technology companies and policymakers shaping the region's digital future, with this year's programme built around three themes: AI in action, intelligent economies and connected infrastructure.

This year's edition carries extra weight. MWC26 Doha runs alongside the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-26), hosted at the same venue from 9 to 27 November 2026, and sees the return of the GSMA Ministerial Programme, focused on digital governance and investment priorities. This November, the people who set global connectivity policy and the people who build the infrastructure will be in the same place.

For RealTyme, that makes Doha the right place to be. Ministries, regulators, operators and critical industries across the region are defining national digital strategies, and secure, sovereign communications are a core part of that conversation.

Panel discussion: Future Economies & Investment

As part of the conference programme, our Chief Commercial Officer, François Rodriguez, will speak on the panel "Spotlight Sessions: Future Economies & Investment".

Session details

- Session: Spotlight Sessions: Future Economies & Investment

- Date: Monday, 9 November 2026

- Time: 16:00–17:00 (AST, Doha time)

- Location: Spotlight Stage, DECC

- Theme: Intelligent Economies

About the panel

AI, intelligent infrastructure and digital industries are changing how nations compete, attract investment and grow. The session will look at where the next wave of economic opportunity is emerging, and how governments, investors and industry are positioning themselves, from AI infrastructure and sovereign investment strategies to startup ecosystems and industrial transformation across the Middle East and beyond.

François will be joined by:

- Prof. Aiman Erbad, VP of Research and Innovation and Professor of Computer Engineering, Qatar University

- Noor Abu Khadija, Acting Assistant Director, Digital Economy Department, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Qatar

- Mohamed Mohsen, Cloud and AI Solution Engineering Leader, Microsoft

The discussion will be moderated by Bocar Alpha Ba, CEO of the SAMENA Council.

RealTyme's perspective: trust is economic infrastructure

Digital economies run on data, and investment follows confidence. As nations build AI capacity, national clouds and data centres, the question of who controls their communications and data becomes a strategic and economic one, not only a technical one.

François will bring RealTyme's view from the field: sovereign communications are a foundation for the digital economy. When governments and critical industries keep full control over their communications, metadata and encryption keys, they reduce exposure to foreign jurisdiction, protect sensitive negotiations and investment decisions, and build the trust that partners and investors look for. With quantum computing on the horizon, post-quantum readiness is also becoming part of long-term infrastructure planning.

About the MWC26 Doha organisers

GSMA is the global organisation that unites the mobile ecosystem, bringing together mobile operators and more than a thousand companies across the wider connectivity and technology industry. Through its working groups, industry programmes and policy advocacy, the GSMA represents the mobile industry to governments and institutions worldwide. It also produces the MWC event series, including MWC Barcelona, MWC Shanghai, MWC Kigali and MWC Doha.

Qatar's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) co-organises MWC26 Doha in partnership with the GSMA. The Ministry leads Qatar's digital transformation agenda, and hosting the event alongside PP-26 reflects the country's ambition to be a regional hub for connectivity, technology and digital policy.

The event is supported by Qatar's Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) as Event Partner, which is also hosting the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference at the same venue.

MWC26 Doha builds on a strong first edition: the inaugural MWC Doha in 2025 attracted more than 9,000 participants from 110 countries and territories, nearly 300 speakers and over 250 exhibitors and sponsors.
